Sterling Silver Fretwork Face Spoon Necklace with garnet
Using a traditional jeweler's hand saw, I made this necklace by piercing out a face from a vintage sterling silver spoon bowl. Above the face, I set a genuine deep red garnet. I then sanded and polished the spoon before adding a sterling jump ring and suspending it from a 16-inch sterling chain. The pendant is about 2 3/4 inches long and 1 1/4 inch wide. The result is a pretty one-of-a-kind necklace upcycled from an old, worn piece of sterling silverware.
